Church Room Development Project

Over the past year or two we have embarked on an ambitious project to enhance the inclusiveness of the Church Room, by;

  • improving access for the disabled, those with pushchairs, and those bringing larger items or trolleys (e.g. caterers),
  • providing more storage, e.g. for the racks of chairs which take up space in the main hall,
  • building a link from the hall to the toilet block to make access weatherproof etc.

Already a great deal of work has been done by a small working group of the Parochial Church Council (PCC), who have employed an architect to produce plans, and get us to the stage when Planning Consent was approved by BBC in late 2020. Things are now progressing towards Building Regulations approval, and going out to tender for building works.

This has only been possible with financial and other support from the Trustees of Friends of St. Mary’s, Stevington (FOSM). We are very grateful to them, and to those who have helped with fundraising over the past years.
